i love the stick. we grew up here. sad to see it go. top stories we are following on this tuesday, december 24th. the 49ers close out the regular season at candlestick in dramatic fashion. we'll have highlights from the field. and some low lights from the fans.

.as for the new stadium in santa clara. the niners didn't waste any time lighting it up to showcase it to a national t- v audience last night. the $1.5 billion dollar building almost looking ready for a game. coming up at 6-30. you'll hear from niners fans about last night's game. two space station astronauts have floated outside on christmas eve in hopes of wrapping up urgent cooling system repairs. it's the second christmas eve spacewalk in nasa history. the first was 14 years ago. it's also the second spacewalk in four days for u.s. astronauts rick mastracchio and michael hopkins. mastracchio and hopkins removed a faulty ammonia pump at the international space station during saturday's outing. today, they'll work to install a new pump 260 miles above the planet.

a heartbreaking story with a happy ending. and injured puppy was thrown into the trash and left for dead but this morning she is recovering and expected to survive. that on saturday as trash crews were throwbacks of rubbish, one of the bags began to move. inside, this 10 week old puppy mex. she was rushed to san francisco animal care and control entry afford numerous punctured wounds to her chest and neck. >>: how does something like this happen? >>: we can speculate. we don't really know. it could have been somebody there other personal animals attack. we don't know. it
